Travel Vaccinations

Travel Immunisation:  We offer a comprehensive service to help you plan your travel requirements including immunisations, and have access to up-to-date information.  You must notify us of your travel plans as early as possible. Please consult reception for a form which needs to be completed, or obtain a copy below, and return as early as possible, at the latest 12 weeks before travelling, as some destinations require a complicated schedule of vaccination.  We have a limited number of appointments available each month – please be aware you may be referred onto the Travel Clinic in Exeter if we are unable to accommodate your request.

PLEASE NOTE:   Some travel immunisations are not available at the practice.

When your travel form has been accepted, an appointment will be made with the Practice Nurse who will contact you with advice of any vaccinations needed. A second appointment will be made for you to receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment will need to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
